Juliana Kinang Wassan, a failed MP aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for Ejura Sekyedumase, has been invited by the Office of the Special Prosecutor regarding a suspected corruption case.
Kinang Wassan is being called in to provide explanations regarding a viral video in which she is seen distributing money at the Ahmadiya School Park during the presidential and parliamentary primaries held on Saturday.
The public has condemned the MP aspirant, who lost to the incumbent MP, Muhammad Bawah Braimah, for causing chaos at the voting venue.
Fati Aminu Ibrahim said the currency notes ranged from 5 to 100 cedis. She has been instructed to appear at the Office of the Special Prosecutor at 6 Haile Selassie Avenue, South Ridge, Accra, on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at 10 am for an interview. The statement from the Special Prosecutor’s office indicated that Kinang Wassan is considered a necessary individual for the investigation.
The legal counsel of her choice may accompany Kinang Wassan.
