Afua Asantewaa named tourism ambassador

Afua Asantewaa  Aduonum has been named a tourism ambassador by the leadership of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA). This recognition follows her remarkable achievement in the Guinness World Record longest singing marathon (Singathon) held at the Akwaaba Village in Accra.

 

During the Singathon, Asantewaa successfully clocked an impressive 126 hours and 52 seconds over five days, with a focus on showcasing Ghanaian songs. The announcement of her appointment was made by Dr. Agnes Adu, CEO of the Ghana International Trade Fair Center, on behalf of GTA CEO Akwasi Agyemang.

 

Dr. Agnes Adu commended Asantewaa for her dedication to promoting Ghanaian songs through her remarkable Singathon attempt. In response to the appointment, Asantewaa expressed her honor and commitment, stating, “I am indeed honored for this appointment. I will ensure that I do my best to push the tourism agenda, especially the domestic aspect, higher.”
