Harrison Adu Boakye, 46, a resident of Fleetwood, was arrested last Friday in the United States (US) on suspicion of aggravated assault following an alleged domestic incident that led to the death of his 33-year-old wife.
The arrest of the Fleetwood man took place on Friday afternoon in relation to the woman’s demise.
After investigating the woman’s death, Berks County detectives took Harrison Adu Boakye, aged 46, into custody and charged him with aggravated assault.
Boakye was transported to the Berks County Sheriff’s Central Processing Unit for processing and arraignment.
Authorities have stated the investigation is ongoing, and an autopsy is pending.
According to the Reading Eagle report, detectives provided the following details:
On July 7, 2023, at 8:25 a.m., Fleetwood police responded to a 911 call reporting a domestic situation at a residence in the 30 block of Middleton Road.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the unresponsive 33-year-old woman inside the house.
Despite the life-saving efforts of the responding officers and emergency personnel, their attempts were unsuccessful.
The coroner was notified and later pronounced the victim deceased.
Detectives launched an investigation, which led to the arrest and charging of Boakye.
