Bissue Wanted by OSP

biss

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has declared Charles Bissue, the former Secretary to the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM), wanted, as he failed to respond to an invitation regarding an ongoing investigation into suspected corruption within the dissolved IMCIM. This failure to honor the invitation is a significant obstruction to the study.

To prevent the OSP from prosecuting him, Mr. Bissue filed a writ at the High Court in Accra in December 2022, starting legal proceedings against the OSP and two others. The OSP had previously announced the conclusion of investigations into corruption allegations by Tiger Eye P.I. and Anas against Mr. Bissue. Subsequently, in January 2023, Mr. Bissue amended the writ and filed an injunction to restrain the OSP from further investigating and prosecuting him.
