It has been reported that a church building collapse at Old Bortianor in the Greater Accra Region has left seven construction workers in critical condition. The victims were working on an extension project around the facility when the disaster occurred. Witnesses have stated that the workers heard an unusual noise, and as they attempted to escape, the building collapsed.
The injured workers were taken to the Bortianor polyclinic, with one critically injured worker later transferred to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. Eyewitnesses have reported that one worker was severely injured by falling pillars. The National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) personnel have visited the site to determine if any other victims are trapped under the rubble.
