Following observed challenges and disruptions during the initial day of the limited voter registration exercise, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, the running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has urged the Electoral Commission (EC) to consider extending the registration period.

During her inspection of various registration centers in Accra, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang emphasized the need for the EC to allocate additional time to compensate for any lost hours or days of inactivity.

“If there were areas, as I have been informed, where no registrations occurred or where very few people were registered due to machine-related challenges, then it is imperative for the EC to make amends for that lost time.

“Whether it requires an extra day or additional hours, it should be accommodated to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to register. Our focus should be on facilitating the process to avoid causing frustration among the people.”
