Two individuals, suspected to be students from Osino Presbyterian Senior High and Technical School in the Eastern Region, tragically lost their lives in a devastating accident at Teacher Mante. Eleven others are in critical condition and receiving medical attention at the Nsawam Government Hospital.
The accident occurred when a Nissan minibus bearing the registration number GG-2071-21 was transporting the students mentioned above from Osino Presbyterian Technical Senior High School to Accra after their midterms on Friday, June 2. According to an eyewitness, the driver en route to Accra from Osino was driving at high speed.
As the minibus was in motion, one of its tires suddenly burst, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle, resulting in it somersaulting. Nearby residents rushed to the scene and helped rescue the trapped students.
The deceased individual has been taken to the Nsawam Hospital mortuary. The remaining injured students are under the care of medical professionals at the Nsawam Government Hospital.
