A tragic incident occurred as a minibus traveling from Bolga to Zebilla crashed in Lamboya, a suburb of Zebilla, resulting in the immediate loss of five lives and severe injuries to five others.
Mr. Azaaba A. Williams, the Assembly member for Lamboya Electoral Area, provided details of the incident, stating, “The minibus with registration number UE 107-23 was on top speed, overtaking almost all the cars in that lane.” Unfortunately, a back tire of the minibus burst, leading to its descent to the ground. Two passengers, in an attempt to escape the unfolding situation, broke through the windscreen and jumped out but, tragically, lost their lives instantly.
The victims were promptly transported to the Zebilla District Hospital, with those in critical condition subsequently transferred to Tamale and Bolga for further medical attention. The community mourns the loss of lives and hopes for the swift recovery of those injured in this devastating accident.
