Ghanaian Lawyer Passes NY Bar

Ghanaian journalist and private legal practitioner Robert Nii Arday Clegg achieved a significant milestone by passing the bar exams in New York State. In a recent Facebook post, Mr. Clegg shared his admission as a Counselor and Attorney at Law in New York State. He joined a group of 473 attorneys from 25 countries and 29 US states who were also admitted. This accomplishment comes 17 years after he became a lawyer in Ghana, for which he expressed gratitude to God. Mr. Clegg, the Managing Partner at Nii Arday Clegg & Co., a corporate law firm, offers counsel on various corporate, commercial, and transactional matters. He is known as a corporate law and governance trainer, frequently speaking at corporate governance events and delivering teaching sessions to law schools and professional organizations.

He shares his corporate governance insights through radio, television, and published articles. Mr. Clegg holds an LL.M. with Honors in Corporate Law, Finance & Governance Concentration from Harvard Law School and a BA with First Class Honours from the University of Ghana. He has received several awards and prizes for his academic achievements, including the Best Graduating Student in Law and the Television Current Affairs Talk Show Host of the Year. He is married to Mabel, and they have three sons: David, Samuel, and Robert Junior.
