The Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has unveiled the government’s intention to revamp the appearance of all public basic schools by transitioning their current brown and yellow color scheme to blue and white.
This endeavor forms part of a broader rebranding strategy aimed at enhancing the visual appeal of these educational institutions.
Dr. Adutwum emphasized that this initiative is just one component of several aimed at rejuvenating basic education across the nation and making it more visually appealing.
“We are embarking on a transition to blue and white. Every school will undergo repainting to present a more attractive appearance. This transformation is in line with Ghana’s aspirations for progress and it is well underway,” the minister disclosed during a forum titled “The Free SHS Story” in Accra on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.
Additionally, he announced plans to replace the existing brown and yellow school uniforms.
“The current yellow and brown uniforms will soon be a thing of the past. Reformation is imminent in communities nationwide, and it will be readily visible,” stated the education minister.
Dr. Adutwum elaborated that these initiatives underscore the government’s commitment to demonstrating that its educational focus extends beyond just secondary education.
