Happy 79th Birthday President Akufo-Addo

Akufo-Addo-

President Akufo-Addo, born on March 29, 1944, is a prominent figure in Ghanaian politics. He serves as the President of Ghana, having been elected to the position in December 2016.

Akufo-Addo was born in the Eastern Region of Ghana, to a prominent political family. His father, Edward Akufo-Addo, was a former President of Ghana, and his mother, Adeline Akufo-Addo, was a prominent Ghanaian activist and politician. Akufo-Addo was educated at the University of Ghana and in London, where he trained as a lawyer.

Akufo-Addo’s political career began in the late 1970s, when he served as the General Secretary of the People’s Movement for Freedom and Justice, a pro-democracy group critical of the military regime in power at the time. In 1992, he was elected to Parliament as the MP for Abuakwa South constituency, in addition to serving in various government positions, as Minister for Foreign Affairs, and as Attorney General and Minister for Justice.

In 2008, Akufo-Addo ran for President of Ghana as the NPP candidate, but was defeated by the incumbent, John Atta Mills. He ran again in 2012, but was once again defeated, this time by John Dramani Mahama. However, in 2016, he was successful in his third attempt at the presidency, defeating Mahama to become the President of Ghana.

Today, as President Akufo-Addo celebrates his 79th birthday, we wish him many more years of good health.
