Dr. John Ampontuah Kumah, the Deputy Minister of Finance, has reportedly passed away, as confirmed by a close family source. The cause of his death is not immediately known. Multiple reports suggest that Mr. Kumah had been unwell for some time.
Dr. Kumah, a lawyer and entrepreneur with over 15 years of experience, served as the current Member of Parliament for Ejisu in the Ashanti Region. Known for his creativity, innovation, and resourcefulness in youth development and job creation, he was also a founder member and managing partner of Aduaprokye Chambers, a legal business, before entering government service. Additionally, he founded Majak Associates Ltd., a construction and building firm.
Graduating from the Swiss Business School in Switzerland in November 2020 with a doctorate in business innovation, Dr. John Ampontuah Kumah had previously earned a master’s degree in applied business research from the same institution in 2019.
He is survived by his wife, Apostle Lilian Kumah, and six children.
