The Ghana Grid Company Ltd (GRIDCo), responsible for operating the National Interconnected Transmission System (NITS), has issued a statement warning that certain areas of the country may encounter power challenges during peak hours. This situation is attributed to a limited gas supply to the Tema region, resulting in a 550MW supply gap during peak periods.
The statement, released on Thursday, October 26, expressed regret for any inconvenience this may cause and explained that the power supply to consumers in certain parts of the country would be affected. Prior to this announcement, concerns about intermittent power outages had been raised by the public on various social media platforms.
