Mohammed Quaye, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ayawaso Central, has submitted his resignation. He sent his resignation letter to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, dating it Sunday, July 2. Quaye stated ill health as the reason for his decision.
In his letter, Mr. Quaye expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the government of Ghana and contribute to the progress of the Ayawaso Central Constituency over the past six and a half years. His current health condition, however, has seriously affected his ability to fulfill his responsibilities and duties, despite his utmost efforts.
He further elaborated that his condition necessitates extended medical treatment and a period of rest and recovery. Quaye acknowledged that while he would prefer to continue serving in his role, he believes it is in the Municipality’s best interest to have someone who can maintain the high standards and efficiency demanded by the government.
Quaye assured his commitment to facilitating a smooth knowledge transfer to his successor, emphasizing his dedication to ensuring continuity in the Municipality’s operations.
