Ernest Owusu Bempah, the Deputy Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of resorting to character assassination and vague theories in order to divert attention from the commendable achievements of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s government.
Bempah believes the NDC lacks alternative solutions to Ghanaians’ current economic challenges. He stated their primary goal is to tarnish the reputation of the government and manipulate public opinion, rather than genuinely advocating for the interests of the Ghanaian people.
Bempah highlighted the stark contrast between the NPP’s proactive approach when they were in opposition, with policy plans like free SHS and their commitment to ending the energy crisis known as “dumsor.” On the other hand, he asserted that the NDC fails to present viable alternatives or policies to tackle the country’s economic situation.
He criticized the NDC for engaging in deceptive tactics, such as spreading lies to create discontent and orchestrating protests using proxies. Bempah warned these actions could undermine Ghana’s thriving democracy and damage the nation’s progress.
Moreover, Bempah accused the new leadership of the NDC of deliberately plotting a scheme to discredit the government and position themselves as the alternative choice once Ghanaians become dissatisfied with the current administration. He emphasized that the NDC’s approach is flawed and misguided.
Bempah further claimed that the NDC’s strategy aims to shape not only the perception of Ghanaians but also the outcomes of independent surveys, particularly those conducted by foreign entities. He suggested the NDC intends to manipulate these surveys to validate their nonexistent commitment to combating corruption.
Overall, Bempah condemned the NDC’s tactics, portraying them as a desperate attempt to undermine the government’s achievements and mislead the public, while lacking substantial solutions to address Ghana’s economic challenges.
