Nyantakyi Supports Kennedy Agyapong to File His Nomination

Former GFA president Kwesi Nyantakyi, who faced repercussions after being implicated in Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ investigative journalism exposé ‘Number 12’ in 2018, showed support for legislator Kennedy Agyapong as he filed his nomination form for the NPP Presidential candidacy. Agyapong, accompanied by his trusted lieutenants, including Nyantakyi, officially submitted his nomination at the party’s headquarters on Wednesday, June 21, 2022.

Agyapong will compete against frontrunners Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Alan Kyerematen in the NPP flagbearership race. Despite Nyantakyi’s lifetime ban by FIFA, which was later reduced to 15 years on appeal, because of his involvement in the exposé, he remains a close associate of the politician. The legal proceedings regarding the case are still ongoing.
