The community showed excitement and gratitude towards the newly-commissioned ultra-modern brick police station at Obo Kwahu in the Kwahu South District of the Eastern Region.

This state-of-the-art facility, commissioned by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on April 8, 2023, has been an ideal office space for law enforcement officers. The Ghana Police Service is considering replicating it in other parts of the country.

The modern police station serves the Obo Kwahu community and its surrounding areas, enhance security, and promote law and order in the region. It is a departure from the traditional police station set up in Ghana and is the first of its kind in the country, as confirmed by the Ghana Police Service. A local businessman and philanthropist generously provided the funding for this facility, Alex Tenkorang, also known as Abensuo, as his contribution towards the government’s efforts to equip the police force for effective security operations.

The Inspector-General of Police attended, the commissioning ceremony, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, and members of the Police Management Board (POMAB). Also present were Tenkorang, the benefactor of the facility, as well as Chiefs, Queen Mothers, and other members of the Obo Kwahu community, who expressed their overwhelming appreciation and joy for the new police station.

This ultra-modern brick police station at Obo Kwahu is truly a testament to the commitment of the Ghana Police Service and the support of local philanthropists in ensuring the safety and security of communities across the country.
