Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, has called upon the Ministry of National Security to take decisive measures against individuals propagating hate speech, particularly on social media platforms.

During a courtesy visit by a delegation from the Ministry of National Security to his palace in Kyibi as part of the “See Something Say Something” campaign, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin stressed the importance of purging the airwaves of verbal assaults targeting individuals, tribes, ethnicities, and religions.

 

According to Metro TV’s Eastern Regional Correspondent, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin emphasized the necessity of holding accountable those who engage in defamatory and harassing behavior against public figures, including public officeholders and traditional leaders. While commending the campaign’s endeavors, he assured his unwavering support in combating potential terrorist threats, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding national security and unity.

 

The leader of the Ministry’s delegation reiterated the purpose of their visit, urging citizens to remain vigilant and collaborate with security and intelligence agencies to reduce the risk of attacks in Ghana.

 

Furthermore, the delegation interacted with Zongo Chiefs in Kyibi, where the Eastern Regional president for Zongo Chiefs, Alhaji Abubakar Umar, stressed the unity of Ghanaians irrespective of religious differences. He highlighted the significance of nurturing a peaceful environment conducive to the practice of diverse religious beliefs.
