Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II traveled to the United Kingdom to attend the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla after receiving an invitation from the Royal House. The coronation ceremony is scheduled to take place on May 6, 2023, at Westminster Abbey in London.
Accompanying the Asantehene is his wife, Lady Julia, as confirmed in a press release from the Chief of Staff at the Mayhia Palace, Kofi Badu.
The statement revealed that Otumfuo Osei Tutu II would be among monarchs and global leaders from across the world, who will gather at Westminster Abbey for the coronation, which is expected to be a grand event after over 70 years. Prior to the coronation, the Asantehene, and Lady Julia will have a private audience with King Charles at Buckingham Palace on May 4, 2023. They will also attend the King’s official reception for overseas guests on May 5, 2023.
