Renowned Gospel singer Patience Nyarko has expressed her reservations about celebrities participating in what she views as “senseless” protests that primarily benefit politicians. In an interview with Property FM, she shed light on the growing issue within the entertainment industry.

Nyarko voiced her belief that participating in protests that primarily serve the interests of politicians is not a wise choice, and she suggested that some celebrities may be compensated to join these demonstrations, often at the expense of their own safety and reputation.

She went on to recount unfortunate incidents that have occurred during protests in Ghana, including cases of individuals suffering injuries and one instance where a person lost their eyesight. Nyarko emphasized that some individuals participate in protests for personal gain, while others may have hidden motives.

“Some people front these protests, and if you attend unknowingly, you might end up with severe consequences. Some celebrities join protests due to their personal interests, and others are enticed by monetary rewards,” Nyarko explained.

Nyarko’s comments were made in response to the recent Julorbi Protest, which saw the active participation of numerous celebrities. This issue raises important questions about the roles and responsibilities of celebrities in protests, especially when they are financially incentivized to join such movements.

Nyarko’s statements underscore the need for a more critical examination of the motivations and implications of celebrities participating in public protests, as well as the potential impact on the public perception of such movements.
