The Government of Ghana is engaging in discussions with Sudanese authorities to facilitate the evacuation of stranded Ghanaian nationals from Sudan. A conflict between two forces, the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces, has resulted in unnecessary casualties. The conflict has affected some Ghanaian nationals, including students.

However, according to the Honorary Consulate of Ghana in Khartoum, all Ghanaian nationals are currently safe. As a result of a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ghana Embassy in Cairo, Egypt, which is simultaneously accredited to Sudan, and the Honorary Consulate, is coordinating the evacuation of Ghanaian nationals and ensuring their safe passage to Ethiopia.
