Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, the running mate and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has underscored the pivotal role of the upcoming general election in 2024 in rescuing Ghana from profound sorrow and potential devastation.

Addressing guests during her official unveiling at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Prof. Opoku-Agyemang stressed that the 2024 election represents a critical opportunity for Ghana’s renewal and rejuvenation, transcending mere political power struggles.

She emphasized that beyond the imperative of returning the NDC to governance, the election symbolizes a crucial moment for the nation’s healing and transformation.

“The upcoming election is not solely about restoring the NDC to power, although it is indispensable given our current circumstances,” she remarked. “It is about a higher purpose—a chance to rescue Ghana from the brink of ruin, from the normalization of corruption and insatiable greed, and from deep-seated despair.”

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang articulated a vision for a revitalized Ghana, one characterized by citizen confidence, shared prosperity, and robust democratic principles. She envisioned a nation where the rule of law prevails, basic necessities are accessible to all, and every citizen feels respected and empowered.

“Our victory as a party,” she declared, “will be an invitation to all to join hands in the monumental task of rebuilding a fractured Ghana, of reigniting hope in a manner befitting the NDC’s legacy and accomplishments.”
