The Minority in Parliament has called on former government appointees to decline any invitations from the Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) committee, labeling its formation unconstitutional.
Led by Suame Member of Parliament John Darko, the Minority caucus argued that the establishment of ORAL is illegal, as Ghana already has constitutionally mandated institutions to investigate allegations of wrongdoing.
John Darko made it clear that former government officials should have no involvement with the committee.
“No serious country would tolerate such a body. If you are a former government official and receive an invitation from this so-called ORAL, the Minority strongly advises you to boycott it,” he stated.
He further stressed, “We will not engage with this committee because we firmly believe that constitutionally established bodies are the appropriate entities to address any alleged misconduct by government officials.”
The Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) committee is chaired by North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
