Today marks the beginning of the campaign trail for John Dramani Mahama, who is vying for the flagbearer position of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). He will embark on a tour of the Eastern Region, where he plans to visit thirty-one (31) constituencies and engage with branch and constituency executives. The visit is part of his more extensive country tour, having already visited 106 constituencies across seven regions.
During his tour of the Eastern Region, the former President will outline his vision for “Building Ghana we want together” and emphasize the importance of securing a resounding victory in the NDC primaries to strengthen the party’s chances in the 2024 presidential election. He will discuss strategies for effectively improving the party’s polling and electoral area campaign, including voter mobilization and canvassing and using campaign materials and resources.
Notably, Mr. Mahama has introduced a reward system to recognize branches of the party that increase their polling station votes in both parliamentary and presidential elections.
After he tours the Eastern Region, Mr. Mahama will spend a day in some constituencies in the Greater Accra Region on April 14 before moving to the Oti Region.
